The Mill House

The Mill House is a one-of-a-kind resource for survivors of brain injury residing the Metro Richmond area. Since opening in 1999, The Mill House has rapidly become the premier community- based rehabilitation program for survivors of brain injury in Central Virginia. The Mill House is patterned after the “clubhouse model” that started more than 50 years ago for individuals with psychiatric disabilities. The Mill House is one of a small handful of clubhouse nationwide that have been developed specifically to address the needs of people with brain injury.

The Mill House provides opportunity and hope for its members. Personal growth is achieved through participation in a work-oriented, supportive community that emphasizes each individual’s strengths. Members work in this structured setting to build vocational skills, social skills, self-esteem, confidence, and independence. While participating in the program, members have access to a variety of services, case management, social and recreational programming, and independent living skills training.
